What happened to the critique forum?

I'm new but I was thinking the same thing. I love to collaborate however, it is good to get some feedback and maybe improve upon the initial recording before. Let me know what you find out. I hate posting in the incorrect forum..

I bet my guess is too many explicit songs came through.

well, it wasn't about explicit songs (although that did happen)

What happened was it got flooded with people who need feedback and no one thought about giving feedback

It was the forum was the most topics on SWF but with least number of replies....it looked ridiculous and useless.

I hid the forum until I find a way to "force" / "encourage" people to give feedback instead of just asking for it....ideas on how to do that are most welcome!

I know we talked about putting a counter for songs when people look at them. Sometimes I look at some of the topics in the forums and views help to see what songs were looked at a lot. I don't know if that will help though. One suggestion might be to have a third link when you log in to check out new songs rather than going to the home page because the homepage seems to by to "text-busy". You might need something to catch people's eyes, maybe bold certain text or use a picture (your personal avatar) next to your song name.

an idea to encourage members to give feedback:

to every member assign an counter - how many feedbacks did he or she gave;
reward those with most feedbacks in some way; put them on the top of the list,
and/or even set the rule: you must give one feedback to be able to put three of your songs to critique forum. The first song is, off course, "for free".
