I think we should be able to create a nickname on the site - which is linked to our real names and addresses even - but kept private - so that the copyright is still legit - but it protects your online identity if that is what you choose.

I'm not sure how that would help protect your work(s) The © is still "legit" once you register it with the copyright office.
