Friday Night

I had a pocket full of cash on a Friday night.
There was a party at the lake house after the fight.
It was a TKO in the very first round
and the bottle ran dry when it came around
So I split to the party for a little more brew
I found me a girl and laughed with the crew.
Till the hour got late and it was time to go.
Tommy said, stay and have a cup of joe.
You ain't in any shape to be driving a car.
You can spend the night, I don't live far.
Well the scene got ugly when he asked for my keys.
I punched out Tommy and he sank to his knees.
I stumbled to the car and cranked up my ride
And shot out the drive on a power slide,
down the dirt road and around the turn.
my tires were spinning, you could smell em burn.
I took the curve just a little too wide
and met a car head on with my driver's side.
There was a bang, a jolt, the crush of steel,
Blood and glass and an eerie squeal
as we slammed to a stop up against a rail.
I looked in the eyes of a face gone pale.
as her body bled out and she began to fade.
I recognized Sally from the seventh grade.
