Okay...4 me I've always been told that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS WRITERS BLOCK!!!! So grab your pen or pencil and just write whatever that comes into your mind! Don't worry you can scrap it off later if you don't like it...Good Luck!

Hey Dennis. What works for me is watching movies and writing a song based off a small but interesting character. Like when I wrote 'Like a Lid off a Blender' that came from watching the movie 'Date Night' observing the relationship of the con artists. And just playing cards (HEARTS)I wrote 'Dead Man Walking'. I also pay close attention to how people speak and the phrases they use. Moving to the south I hear so many great phrases I never heard before. That's just a few things that work for me. I hope it helps

What I do is just wait. If there's nothing to write about, the same feeling that normally goes into a song won't be there. I'm happy to help if you would like Also, you could think of a memorable time in your life, or listen to a song that would bring back a memory.

I have many lyrics/poems that I would like to provide to anyone that is looking for lyrics. mostly Love Poems I wrote to my long distance love of my life. I especially have one that I really would love someone to sing maye with a piano or guitar to the tune I can provide in an mp3 file with lyrics.

So if you are a pianist or guitarist, and looking for lyrics, just send me the subject matter or information on the type of song you would like and I will send to you in exchange for just putting my 1 song to music.

Writer block = Thinking about being perfect

Just write, bro. Take a walk or something. Think about a girl or something.

I know Paul McCartney and John Lennon used to get ideas from anything like a billboard ad to posters, TV commercials etc... Like mentioned above: "just write"

when you're a songwriter, the best way to get over writer's block its to take your favorite song and write you own lyrics to only the music and melody of that. Completely remake it into your own. You'll have a new song and maybe new ideas for more new songs
