Hey all,

I am thinking of trying some open mike nights at some of the local bars around my area. Has anyone ever done this kind of thing before? Also what are the best kind of songs to write for a place like this?

Thanks

I attend lots of those, I don't actually sing or anything. But to tell you what I noticed.

Don't do a "big" song unless you can nail it. How many times have I heard Nirvana's "Man who sold the world" butchered to hell.

Mix original with popular, an all original playlist may be boring for audience, you need to grasp their attention.

Relax, most important thing that this is experience.

What is your voice like? What genre do you sing? Maybe we can try to make a 5 song list that would be appropriate.
