If they won't be your friend for a reason like that they are not your friends in the first place. Chances are that some of them write poetry or dream about singing but are afraid to open them selves to criticism. Don't every give up on self expression. Be brave and do your own thing. Be someone else' s inspiration.

I would just do your own thing and don't worry about people. In reality, you won't settle down if you are lucky until about 25 to 30 years old (and even older for some people). Just keep those relationships light. If they don't like music and singing then don't worry about them and do your own thing. You might even make friends writing songs or and getting into music more. There are NO RULES in social life.

Fly I think if you put it to music would have to be a slow song but that is just me. I would be interested to see what the rest of the song would look like.

Lol. Did you come here to ask a serious question of what you should do, or to just read other people tell you what you already knew was right? I'm just curious, not making fun of you or anything, as I'm going to be one of the latter category of people. Here come the cliches:

BE YOURSELF! If it's something you enjoy, enjoy it whether you're sitting at home alone or at school with five of your best friends. And if they are your best friends, they will accept everything about you, whether they are personally interested or not; if they make fun of you, then they're the kind of people you don't need around you... if you really want to pursue your singing and lyricism, as a passion or a simple hobby, you need to associate with people that support you.

Some of this may seem harsh or commanding, but it's just the opinions and advice of someone who's been a similar situation. Take it or leave it, and know that I sincerely hope it works out for the best.

Never stop singing, and never stop writing, friend!!
