Dear Author,

SongWriting Articles Directory at SongWritingFever.com aims at providing our visitors and members with informative, no-nosense articles that would be relevant to them as songwriters, lyricists or musicians. To make sure that all the articles meet that standard, I decided to take a different approach than the usual approach other article directories take. I decided that ONLY INVITED AUTHORS will be allowed to publish their article on SongWritingFever.com.

I finally put the Articles Directory online. :)

The new SongWriting Articles Directory will include new original articles written by the best songwriting professionals, an updated look and feel plus the introduction of new authors writing exclusively for SongWritingFever.com

There aren't a lot of articles there yet...but hopefully our authors will start making it happen soon.

Got Duplicate Lyrics?

Hi,

I finally had the time to install this crucial function for "Collaboration Lyrics Directory"...You can now delete any lyrics that you have submitted. It takes one click (well, actually, two!)

You can edit or delete your lyrics by visiting your profile, clicking on the link of the lyrics you want to delete and there you will find a link that says "Delete these Lyrics" right below the one that says "Edit these Lyrics"...

Add Your Songwriting Products

Hi,

We have taken one step further towards building "Songwriters Store"...Now, if you own a songwriting/music product, you can register for a Vendor Account and add your product to our soon-to-come Songwriters Store.

Vendors will be able to edit their product information any time (including, price, specs, description...etc), contact store administrator for help and offers..etc. More about features available for Vendors on Songwriters Store homepage.

Registering for a vendors account won't take minutes, no email confirmation required...you will add your product instantly!

Modifications for Songwriters Database

Hi,

As I observed how the Songwriters Database was working over the past week, I decided on few minor changes and updates to make it work better and become more convinient...

The only significant change is that members who are "interested in songwriting collaboration" ONLY will be listed in the databse. Members who choose "not interested" will not be listed in Songwriters Database. You can choose your collaboration preference while you register and also you can edit later from Profile Edit page.

Mailing Problems Fixed

Hi there,

Since the launch of the new website we had problems with our mailing server and mailing system...These problems caused your account of getting "spammed" with lots of emails (some people reported 140 emails).

Now, These problems are FIXED!

First, thanks to our host Netfirms, we fixed the problem with the mailing server. Then, just today we fixed the problem with mailing system by throwing it in the garbage and installing a new great mailing system called PoMMo. Thanks a lot for the PoMMo team for such a great software!

Now, the "Retrieve Your Password" page is working and also I'm able to send you guys the service updates newsletter which I believe is very important to keep you informed of what's going on on SongWriting Fever :)

Collaboration Has Gotten Even Easier!

Hi,

To complement the "Songwriters Database" opened a couple of days ago, I installed a new functionality to the "Collaboration Lyrics Directory"...

Now, you can easily find ALL the lyrics that still need music added to it with just one click...Click Here :)

Also now, you can easily find ALL the lyrics that still need lyrics help to become complete with just one click...Click Here :)

These pages can easily be accessed from the website menu under the "COLLABORATION" item, by clicking "Help Others Complete Their Lyrics" item or the "Find Lyrics to Write Music To" item for lyrics and music respectively.

Links to these pages will also be available on "Collaboration Lyrics Directory" homepage and in the sitemap shortly.

Songwriters Database

As promised, you all now have the chance to easily search and find your songwriting partner!

SongWriters Database is finally online. The databse includes records of all SongWriting Fever members. It is categorized by Genre Interest,Skill (lyricist, musician) and by songwriting collaboration interest together with their location and other information.

Contact Information for all members is available on theei profiles which can be reached through Songwriters Databse with one click.

You guys have no idea how much happy I am that this database is finally available..It is the first of its kind and I am telling you right now: Finding a SongWriting Collaboration partner has never been easier!

So how to I get added to Songwriters Database?
Simple...All you have to do is register and become a member of SongWritingfever.com. Click here to register.

OK, but what if I want to browse the databse or contact a songwriter on the database?
SongWriters Databse can be found at this page. Songwriters Contact information is available on their profiles. In order to view a songwriter profile, you have to be a member of SongWritingFever.com (membership is free!). Click here to become a member.

Lost Your Password?

Hi,

As a first step in solving the emailing problem, the "Lost Your Password" function is working again...If you have forgtten your password before and could not retrieve it, click here to get a new password.

Another Emailing Problem

Because of an error with the webhost mailing server and mafunctioning emailing script that I used, some of you ended up receiveing about 140 emails including other members passwords and emails...I can not express how sorry I am for such a fault.

Please accept my apologies. There will be no emails sent from now on, until I am sure I fixed this problem completely!

Problems With Emailing

Like I said before, website is still in beta, so we might run across a couple of problems every now and then..This is the first major problem I face since the new website was up:

Because of some issues with my web host, the website can't send any mails so over the past 48 hours people who registered couldn't get the account activation links delivered to their mailbox, so they couldn't login Sorry for such inconvenience. If you have tried to register in the past 48 hours and couldn't pleas mail at contact[at]songwritingfever[dot]com and I'll fix it for you.

Registration is running smoothly for now without the need to activate your account. All you need to do is just complete the registration form.

Please also note that currently the "Lost Your Password" page will not work because it will not be able to send you your new password. Sorry!

About the New Resources Section

During planing SongWriting Fever Makeover, I decided to reevaluate all the sections and close what needs to be closed so I can focus all my efforts on the more productive services...Here's the break down of what I found:

I songwrite! Webring: May be webrings have become kind of obsolete or may be I just didn't so it right. But anyways, I Songwrite webring didn't serve the purpose it was originally made for and even caused me some problems with some people (no time to elaborate). Therefore, I songwrite webring is currently CLOSED. Please remove any ring code from your website if you still have it there!

Songwriting & Music Links Directory: Links directories have become kind of obsolete as users rarely browse them besides becoming a haven for the ill-mannered webmasters spamming the directory. Our sobgwriting links directory has clearly failed to serve its purpose which is being a comprehensive resource for our visitors lookign for music and/or songwriting information. There are no plans to put up a new link directory, however we are trying to think of other concepts that would achieve that purpose effectively. Primiraly, we are thinking may be a community driven system of some kind should do the job. But until then, Songwriting and Music Links Directory is CLOSED

Resources section has been updated with better services that you can find under "Resources" item in the site menu above...Enjoy!

The All New Lyrics Directory

After SongWriting Fever Makeover, Collaboration Lyrics Directory is now a lot better than before...Here's why:

You can edit your lyrics after you submit...You are not stuck with your mistakes anymore

ONLY members can view your lyrics, making it much more difficult for your lyrics to get stolen

You can set your collaboration preference (need music for the lyrics, need help completing the lyrics, both or none!), so other members can know and contact you accordingly...

You can add more information about your lyrics as you see fit, so other members can better understand your lyrics and what you need!

15 Genres to choose from for your lyrics

In short, the system now just works a lot better and more efficiently. And it sure does look better ;)

Long ago, I promised all SongWriting Fever visitors a complete makeover including an improved look, a membership systems with all the goods that come with that and much more...

Now I know I missed the deadlines I put for this makeover too many times, but guess what?! The New Website Is Finally Up and Running

Search and You Shall Find

I always want to make it as easy for SongWritingFever.com visitors as possible to find what they want on the website...A search engine for SongWritingFever.com was crucial, but all search engine scripts are hideous, stupid and I don't think anybody made it to installing them before..!!

Well, never mind all that...Thanks to Google Co-Op, I now have a full functioning search engine only for SongWritingFever.com. Now you don't need to go through all the page to find what you need...All you need is type a word and hit search, and you shall find what you want (that is if it's related to songwriting of course!)

Lyrics Directory Updates

I put "Writing Fever Lyrics Directory for Independent Lyricists" online about three months ago. However, I had some problems regarding some things like the submit system, the lyrics view and more...Updating the directory is long overdue!

To quick off the updates for the lyrics directory, I installed a WYSIWYG editor instead of the dull text area in the lyrics submit form. So now you can style your lyrics the way you want to make it look cool and professional :D. The WYSIWYG editor was provided by MOXIECODE Systems...Thanks!

Comming soon is a much better and more professional lyrics view. Meaning that the web page where your lyrics get published is going to look a lot nicer...Congratulations ;)

Also, there is going to be a category update. I will add some more categories and delete some categories that are not useful (Sci-Fi!!?! What was I thinking?!). Also, some improvements to the submit form to include more informations about your lyrics...Sit tight and you will get informed as soon as the updates are up and running.
